Bill Gates’s Wisdom
Today, I hung up a poster on my wall with a list of things Bill Gates revealed about real life. They were pretty enlightening, and as I read them I realized that the things they teach in schools about how there are no winners and losers and that flipping burgers is bad is a load of bullcrap. I saw that when I get out of college I am NOT going to be making $60,000 a year from some dream job. Mr. Gates said that “Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger-flipping. They called it oppurtunity.”
He also mentioned something about nerds: “Be nice to them. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.” So true. :)
Funny post from mylifeisaverage.com
“Today, I died from not passing on a chain email. This is the 117th time this has happened.”
Funny conversation between me and a friend.
- Me: What are you reading?
- Friend: What? Nothing.
- Me: Let me see! Is it Twilight? Is that why you're not showing me?!
- Friend: No! Wait till the teacher isn't looking.
- *friend shows the pages to me*
- Me: Is that a Nintendo DS?
- *apparently, my friend, who is a hardcore gamer, had cut a hole in the pages of her book and stuck her DS in the empty space*
